About The Book:

“You are obese, Mrs. Moriarty.”

Peggy Moriarty is stunned by her doctor’s words. She knows she’s let herself go a bit, but she thinks the young, skinny physician is exaggerating. Her husband’s death fourteen years ago left her to raise their twins, Grace and Greg, alone. But now that they’re teenagers, doing their own things, her only hobby is watching Messages from Beyond, a show about a medium who connects the grieving with their deceased loved ones.

When the twins leave for college, they give Peggy a gift certificate for an exercise class. At first, Peggy is insulted. But once the sting wears off, she realizes if she gets in shape, she might gain the confidence she needs to go on her favorite TV show and talk to her husband one last time.

With help from her new friends at the gym and Carmen Tavarez, the mother of Grace’s boyfriend, Peggy begins to emerge from her prolonged grief and spread her wings. She may soon discover that her sum is more than a mother, a widow, and her body.

Miss W’s Review:

5 Uplifting Stars!!!!

In “More Than” we meet Peggy who is a widow and mother of twins.
Peggy is beyond insulted when her physician tells her she is obese.
Peggy is so relatable in her journey and her struggles. All she wants is to go on a TV show to talk to speak with a medium that can connect her one last time to her husband.
This is “more than” a story about weight and how one sees oneself.
This story is about finding yourself, finding your support system and the hope that brings us all together.

This story is so well written with well fleshed out characters that will make you cry equally as much as you will laugh.

You do not want to miss this story, it has stayed with me long after I have finished it.

About the Book:

These adorable service puppies are matchmakers in the making…
Lila Vasquez might not be the “fun one” at Puppy Promise—the service puppy
training school she runs with her sisters—but she can always be counted on to
get things done. So when her latest client shows an interest in princess gowns
over power suits, Lila puts aside her scruples, straps on the glittery heels, and
gets to work.

If only the adorable six-year-old’s father wasn’t such an appealing Prince Charming.
Ford’s whole life revolves around his daughter…until he meets Lila. Smart, capable, and amazing at helping Emily gain confidence with her new service puppy at her side, Lila is everything he ever wanted—but she’s way out of his league. Good thing Emily and her new pup are up to the matchmaking task. This Christmas, it’s all hands (and paws) on deck!

Miss W’s Review:

Puppy Christmas is a holiday must read book! Puppy Christmas is the second in the Forever Home Series that feature the sisters who own and run Puppy Promise.

This was a wonderfully well written Christmas romance with amazing characters.
The character driven storyline flowed seamlessly.

Puppy Christmas is not only a Christmas romance, it is a story about friendship, love, hope , and family which include our loveable furry friends.

This is a super cute, funny holiday romance that you do not want to miss!

About the Book:

A battle-scarred father. A disillusioned daughter. Can a grieving widower rebuild his splintered family to find peace at last?

South Dakota, 1949. WWII veteran John Smith longs for the life he lost after the tragic death of his wife during childbirth. But in the desperation to provide for his two small children, he is manipulated into an unsuitable marriage by a young woman with a dark neurosis. Tormented by his own grief and the ravages of war, John is blind to his children’s turmoil and pain.

Washington State, 1964. John’s sixteen-year-old daughter Calla dreams of a life beyond her vindictive stepmother. Forced to care for her younger siblings with a list of household demands larger than she is tall, Calla knows it’s only a matter of time until she can escape the abuse and begin anew at college. But her dreams crumble when her heartless stepmother claims the college fund for her own selfish purposes.

As John fears he is too late to stop the war within his home, Calla vows to build a new life worth living.

Can John survive the consequences of war on the home front? Can Calla find the strength to rediscover the meaning of family?

Man Called Smith is the heartwarming and heart wrenching story following the life of John Smith. If you like courageous characters and narratives told over multiple generations, then you’ll love Tanya E. Williams’ emotional tale.

Miss W’s Review

4 Stars from Miss W.

I went into this book not knowing that there were two books before it. I do wish I had known that but I was still able to read without much confusion. I will say after reading this book , I would like to go back and read the other two books to understand the background and the characters better.

I really enjoyed the characters , they felt very authentic to me. They were well developed, complex and complicated.  My heart was sad for these characters. I didn’t find Mr. Smith to be a likeable character, and I am not sure if he was meant to be.  He annoyed me so many times and frustrated me, but I think that was the brilliance of the story.

This story will stay with me for a while. I look forward to more stories from this author.
