Book Review-Two Bites Too Many by Debra H. Goldstein

Today on the blog I am reviewing Two Bites Two Many by Debra H. Goldstein.

About the Book:

Far from a domestic goddess, Sarah Blair would rather catch bad guys than slave over a hot stove. But when a dangerous murder boils over in Wheaton, Alabama, catching the killer means leaving her comfort zone …

Things are finally looking up for Sarah Blair following her unsavory divorce. Settled into a cozy carriage house with her sassy Siamese cat, RahRah, she has somehow managed to hang on to her modest law firm receptionist job and–if befriending flea-bitten strays at the local animal shelter counts–lead a thriving social life. For once, Sarah almost has it together more than her enterprising twin, Emily, a professional chef whose efforts to open a gourmet restaurant have hit a real dead end …

When the president of the town bank and city council is murdered after icing Emily’s business plans, all eyes are on the one person who left the scene with blood on her hands–the Blair girls’ sharp-tongued mother, Maybelle. Determined to get her mom off the hook ASAP, Sarah must collect the ingredients of a deadly crime to bring the true culprit to justice. But as neighbors turn against her family, can she pare down the suspects before another victim lands on the chopping block?

Includes quick and easy recipes!

Miss W’s Review :

Two Bites Too Many is Book 2 in the Sarah Blair Cozy Mystery Series.
I absolutely loved this book . This acts as a stand alone book , but I highly suggest reading the first book in the series, “One Taste Too Many” which is equally fantastic!

This story has relatable , well developed fleshed out characters. The secondary characters really added to the overall story as well.

The story was so well written, and the mystery had enough surprises that I did not guess who the murder was. The author has a fantastic talent for capturing the reader’s attention and maintaining it through her incredibly fantastic descriptive writing.

This book was hard to put down, and I cannot wait to see what this author writes next!

To Celebrate , Book 1 is on sale for a limited time for $1.99 ! What a Steal!!!!

So let’s move on to Book 7, Hitches, Hideouts & Homicide. I so loved this book!

About the Book:

Everyone in Normal is excited for the Hoe Down to celebrate the opening of the new Old Train Station motel grand opening.

The evening comes to an abrupt end when a lightning storm knocks out all the power. At least, that’s what appears to have knocked out the electricity. But things aren’t always as they appear.

Mae West has a way of sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong and finds herself in a dangerous situation when she finds a treasure map that leads to more than just treasure. . . a dead body!

Miss W’s Review:

I  am so happy to be back in Normal , Kentucky and visiting Happy Trails Campground. Honestly, reading this series makes this New Englander want to travel to Kentucky!

The last owner of the Old Train station is found murdered and let me tell you the suspects are piling up!!!! Some are even linked to a 40 year old bank robbery, but I won’t give away too much except did the robbery really happen?

Mae West (yes that’s her real name) is back and so is the Laundry Club. These characters are so full of life and entertaining and smart!

The story had me flipping pages with those wonderful twists that the author has such a talent at intertwining into the mystery. This is an action packed edge of your seat mystery.

I enjoyed every minute of it , and I thought I knew who the culprit was , and I was TOTALLY wrong.

Highly recommend this book and the entire series.

A Gathering of Secrets-Linda Castillo

I was thrilled to have received an advanced reader copy (ARC) of “A Gathering of Secretes” by Linda Castillo from Minotaur Books.   If you haven’t read any books by Linda, you definitely need to change that.

This is my review that has been posted to Good Reads and Amazon:

A Gathering of Secrets is book # 10 in the Kate Burkholder series and let me tell you when I say they keep getting better , THEY DO! I could not put this book down. Read it in one sitting.

Chief of Police Kate Burkholder is back on duty when a historic barn burns to the ground and she is called in to investigate. At first it does look like an accident, until an 18 year old’s body is found burned alive.

Kate has to work her way through several suspects, secretes, lies and a community that protects their own. Kate has to look at her own past to find her way to the truth.

Linda Castillo is masterful a creating a mystery and this one will leave you guessing until the very end!!
